I love to sew and embroider and decided to turn my passion into a part-time business ... a cottage industry if you like.

My other passion is reading  so I thought "why not combine the two and create a range of reading cushions" ... and that's exactly what I've done. View The Range >

Each cushion is hand made by me from my studio in the UK. I use cotton fabrics to form the cushion cover. Designs vary but I do not use licensed fabrics as I don't want to infringe any copyrights.

The book pocket is a quilted material and it's this that I embroider onto. I use a wide variety of designs and verses in many different colour themes. I don't embroider by hand - I have an amazing machine which I transfer my designs onto and it does a lot of the stitching work for me.

I don't manufacture the cushion inner (pad), I buy these in from a couple of reputable manufacturers. Each inner is 16" x 16" square and is filled with 100% virgin hollow fibre which is ideal to plump and revitalise. The outer material is polypropylene. Both the synthetic outer cover and fibre are fire retardant and all materials and fillings meet the 1988 fire safety regulation requirements.

The reading cushion comes complete with inner already inserted. It can easily be removed for washing - hand wash and do not tumble dry. Note that we don't include any books with your purchase - any you see pictured are only to show how a book could look in the pocket. Of course, it doesn't always have to be a book, it could be the perfect hiding place for a secret bar of chocolate or somewhere to keep the remote controls so they aren't lost down the side of the sofa.

As I said, you are buying a one off, hand made item. Every one is different, no two are the same. The photos on the website are of the exact cushion you are buying - you will not just get something similar. I'm adding new cushions regularly so keep checking back.

When it comes to customer service you won't be disappoined. I aim to dispatch same or next day. I package in recyclable materials where possible and use Royal Mail for deliveries. They may not be the cheapest but are certainly reliable and fast. I will keep you informed and send tracking numbers as appropriate.
